The re-positioning and re-branding of this Chicago landmark building aimed to attract a new, younger tenant-base. The solution came to celebrate the dichotomy of Art Deco and Ultra Modern. A custom walk-off mat at the building’s lobby entry adds neutral colors that complement the surrounding marble surfaces, and a pop of color that emphasizes the “new” brand. The same colors are used in the corridor on painted angular soffits which transition into wall elements which, in turn, become flooring details.
AT, Box Studios, Chicago
